Specifying Image Size in Database Upload

Postby rasbro » Wed Apr 18, 2007 8:31 am

I love the new image resize feature in ShopSite, however, as I begin using the new image sizes with my stores, I have come across a few challenges. One has to do with specifying which resized image to use in the database upload file.

How do I specify in the database upload file what image size should be used. Is there now a new field for this?

It seems to me there are a few bugs to still be worked out with the new image resize feature to bring it up to speed for those of us that use database uploads. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for your time.

Yes the size can be uploaded in the fields "Product Image Size" and "More Information Image Size"

The acceptable values are 0,1,2,3 with 0 being the original image, 1 being the Resized Image 1, 2 being Resized Image 2 and 3 being Resized Image 3.

Since you can rename the image sizes and even make the order not be from largest to smallest there is no easy way to map your name for a size to the internal database value representing that field. So in the upload file you must use the numeric value and in the download file it will be represented the same way.

The way you explained the values makes sense.

FYI: I was able to find reference to those fields in the backoffice where you map the database download fields, but I can't seem to find anything in the ShopSite help files for vs 8.2 regarding these fields. I'm not sure if the help files have not been updated yet with that info but here is the link I am using for your reference:

Thanks for your help!
