Ordering Options -> Pull Down Menus

Postby MarkB » Mon Mar 05, 2007 9:03 pm

I have 2 questions with regard to the ORDERING OPTIONS -> PULL DOWN MENUS of a product.

Using the T-Shirt example, I have it defined for both SIZE and COLOR as 2 drop-down menus (as shown in the help system), no problem.

1) When I insert the info into my store pages, it places the 2 drop-down menus next to each other, side by side. Is there a way to have them displayed one above the other (stacked) instead?

2) Is there a way to define which option is the default selection? Right now the default selection is the first option in the list. Using T-Shirts, I want to default size to be LARGE, but I don't want to list LARGE as the first option. I still want the list to be in order of SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE, X-LARGE, but want LARGE to be the default.

Is this possible?

Thank-you for your assistance!

1. using a custom template you can specify the output as line (default value) or in column format. The built in templates all use the line option.

2. There is no way to indicate which is the default options so the first item in the list will be the default. You could however, put your default option as the first option as well as including it in the list so you would have something like

Large <-- here
Small
Medium
Large <-- and here
X-Large
XX-Large.

Thanks Jim!

Yes, I am using 100% custom templates, but I somehow overlooked the tag for formatting the pull down menus as LINE or COLUMN. I found it now.

Any chance in a future version of ShopSite that you could add a ";d" or something to define the pull-down menus default selection?

Thanks for your help!

Glad you found the correct setting to display the options as you wanted.
We will look at the possibility of setting a default value for a future release.
