Minicart Problem

I have shopsite pro and I went under the settings and checked the box saying view mini-cart. My minicart is still showing no items. I have ready all the help files concerning this issue and I can't figure out why my mini-cart is showing 0 items and 0 cart total. My cookies have also been enabled in my browser. I also can not find my store serial number. My hosting service has disabled the link on shopsite to show me this number. PLEASE HELP! Thanks!

The problem is your store pages are at a different URL from your shopping cart, so cookies will not work. From the ShopSite help docs:

The mini cart will not work if customers have cookies turned off, or if your store pages and shopping cart are in different domains. In other words, if your store pages are at www.mydomain.com and the shopping cart is at shop.myhostingprovider.com, the mini cart will not show the items and subtotal in the cart.

Thanks for the quick reply. So what should I do now? Should I ask my hosting provider to include the minicart software on the same domain as the website? Thanks.

Leif,

There is probably little you can do, as your host is using a shared ShopSite install, meaning all sites use the same shopsite.hypermart.net domain. Your web store pages are on your domain (as they should be) so they will not match the cart domain. This is one of the limitations of a shared ShopSite install, where multiple stores utilize the same cart cgi's.

You could ask them if they can install ShopSite into your domain as opposed to being a shared install.
