image upload error

we tried to load images using ftp software to www/htdocs/store/media/... but the following error appear ..." critical transfer error.."

we tried different ftp software, but same error message appear. wonder what could be problem. the images are all small jpg files about 20kb to 50kb each.

any assistance is very much appreciated.

Have you checked to make sure you have sufficient permissions on the folder(s) you are trying to upload to? Try an ftp program with a detailed log like FileZilla and post the section of the log where you try to upload a few images so we can see the errors.

Can you upload images through the ShopSite back office ok?

i think we have sufficient permission as we are able to batch upload products informatin. we have many images to upload and shopsite (back office) allow only 1 image at a time. we could not find in shopsite how to batch upload images.

This part of your response indicates you don't have permissions to ftp files to the server
ommand: STOR IMC70380201.jpg
Response: 550 Requested action not permitted.


Check with whoever is the admin for your server and have them fix permissions on the media directory so you can ftp to it, set permissions on files you ftp there and that the webserver still has permissions to read and write to that directory.

problem uploading image with ftp software filezilla

hi jim

the admin company said the permission are all set correctly. they have successfully uploaded item using our user name and password. but we are still not able to upload images, still the same error messages.

suspecting something could be wrong with our computer, we tried it on different pc computer and also on imac computer. but still the same.

we don't what to do now. could someone guide us please.

Hi,

we have solve the problem. it was the server firewall setting in the office that stop uploads.

anyway thank you for all the respond.
