Any Ideas? I would like to display an alternate price...

Hello -

I would like to create a buyers club for our store, where the shopper can purchase a membership, and then receive a 10% discount on any purchase in the future.

I figure that I can create a coupon that members will receive to get their discount on checkout...but I'd also like to display a "buyers club price" next to the regular price, so that people can see that they can get a deal by joining...

At first, I thought...sale price (just change the "on sale" text), but that won't work, because it will pass the sale price to the cart, plus, then I can't put things on sale...

So I am thinking that I can maybe edit the products template, to have an image icon after (buyers club price) and somehow pass the Shopsite Database price to a javascript? equation that will show for each product??

This is going to be difficult for me, as I am not well versed in Javascript - so I thought I'd post this, and see if anyone else has a better idea.

You could use the alternate currency setting which is configured under Preferences > Locale. Pick the same currency format as you using for the main currency as the alternate currency. Then set the exchange rate which represents the buyers club discount price, .90 would be a 10% discount.

Why don't you just use the custom product fields for this?
