authorization issue for /shopsite_sc/ss

first, I can't make /shopsite_sc/ss my default web directory or web root.
please let me know how to do it.


secondly, since I can't make it my webroot, I have to copy the home page from /shopsite_sc/ss to my webroot directory.
however other product pages are still in /shopsite_sc/ss, which requires authorization.

I go to control panel (I am using verio) of my website and was able to switch off the authorization for /shopsite_sc/ss, however I got page error as follows,

This store may not be authorized to run ShopSite software. Please contact the merchant or webmaster.


Solutions:

1) If the file has been modified or corrupted copy the original store.auth file from the install directory to .auth in the store data directory.
2) If solution 1 does not work, contact the vendor that sold you ShopSite software to get a valid auth file.

so I guess my solution would be eighther one of the following two,

1. make /shopsite_sc/ my webroot, or
2. copy this store.auth file to /shopsite_sc/

please kindly advise me if my assumption is correct, and let me know what I need to do... thanks!!

Since your store is hosted at Verio you should contact them for help setting your store up. They are the ones who know how their server configuration is setup and have the access necessary to complete the installation.
