shopsite_db

After upgrading to 8.1.3.1 i tried restoring my shopsite_db file to one I made at an earlier date but after loading it the products that I had created after that date were still there. When I had done this previously the products would be gone since they were stored in the newer _db file. It seems that when I switch shopsite_db to an earlier file it doesn't change at all. Anyone have any insight onto this or maybe it's something that the new version does?
