Sendmail issue: Resource temporarily unavailable

I need some help figuring out why I am getting this error message when I go to my orders tab. It appears as if sendmail is not working, but when I use the testmail.cgi script, or even log in and use sendmail from the command line, it works fine.

Here is the complete error message:

The customer receipt was not able to be delivered.Sendmail returned an error: Resource temporarily unavailable

A problem occurred sending an order notification to the merchant.Sendmail returned an error: Resource temporarily unavailableUnable to send order notification to the merchant.Sendmail returned an error: Resource temporarily unavailable

This is on ShopSite 8.0.2 / linux.

This error sounds like at the time an order was placed in ShopSite, the load on the server was either too high or sendmail was not available (due to high load, too many sendmail processes running, etc...) and could not send the merchant an email that an order was placed.

Try placing a test order and see if you get the merchant receipt now. You can also check that sendmail is being referenced correctly by ShopSite in the backoffice under: Preferences -> Hosting Service -> "Sendmail Location"
