Anchor Tags Inserted by Shopsite

Post by craig »

I am using custom templates. When I Assign Products to a Page the resulting source code shows an anchor tag with a number for each of the products assigned to the page. This inserts white space in my layout. I am wondering where these come from and if there is a way to get rid of them. The tags look like this- <a name="782"></a>. Thanks in advance for your help.

There is no way to remove the anchor tag, it is output with each product for search purposes (so the search feature can link directly to the spot in the page where the product is at). But I have also never seen them cause any 'whitespace' when a browser renders a page. As far as I have seen, the browsers would not visibly render an empty anchor tag at all.
