Hello -
We are currently trying to load our products database to our new store - and it keeps getting corrupted according to our hosting service, and therefore the pages won't link.
They say that the reason is that we are using HTML characters in the NAME field (ie. 36"x24" Jacquard <br> Rug) - and have said if we stop doing this, it will work from now on.
On shopsite help, it says: under product database upload fields:
Name - The name of the product.
Field Type:
Short Text
Default Value:
No default; you must set a value
Possible Values:
You can enter any text for the name of the product, including HTML tags
Also - we are using dashes in the SKU field - they say that could cause db corruption as well...
Has anyone ever heard of this? We just upgraded to version 8 - and I don't have that much experience with it...
I figured that Shopsite's software documentation would be pretty well tested, but my hosting service seems to disagree with the functionality of the product.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Our store has been down for three days now, and we are desperate...even worse, I talked my customer into using Shopsite over Miva (a product they were already using) at the beginning of this project - because I swore up and down it was a zillion times better, and now I can't get it to work correctly...
Thanks,
Tricia[/i]
