Signing In for every order

Postby sdps » Fri Sep 01, 2006 4:33 pm

I have customers that we drop ship for and they send in many orders at a time.

I'm receiving complaints that after they complete one order and they want to send in their next order, they have to sign in again.

Does an order completion sign the person out? I went through the process myself and was not able to check out again without signing back in so I assume it does.

What can be done to alleviate having to keep signing in over and over? I can understand their frustration of having to sign in each and every time, one right after another.

Thanks

Yes, when an order is completed, the registered customer who is logged in is logged out by the software. I cannot think of a way around this. Possibly you could write an order API script that could re-log them back in, but that would be quite involved with manipulation of cookies and ShopSite registration data.

We have the same problem when an affiliate wants to place several orders. Maybe this would be a good candidate for a future enhancement?

I will add it to that forum.
