SubProducts

I want to use subproducts to categorize some of my products. I am trying
to nest some subproducts that require a second category level. When I
add a subproduct to first subproduct, Shopsite does not display the
subproducts on the second level. Is this possible?

The other solution I have come up with is to create pages for the second
level categories and add links to these pages in the description of the
product that is being used for the first level category and then add the
products to these pages.

I am looking for input on the best way to accomplish this.
