Shopping Cart after registration/login

Postby Scott Shawcroft » Wed Jun 22, 2005 3:47 pm

I work with shop site in an online store. We are having a problem. The
problem is is that customers find that they must register at the shopping
cart AFTER selecting what they want to buy. When they login they can get
their order but their shopping cart is empty. Is there a work around for
this problem?
Thanks,
Scott

What version of ShopSite do you have?

If you have v7.1, go to Commerce Setup -> Customer Registration ->
Configure and look at the bottom at the 'Customer Registration Link'
field. If you want to put a link to the customer registration
login/signup screens on your other store pages, these are the links you
should use. You don't have to use all of the JavaScript that surrounds
them, this is just an example, but 4 links within it you can use in your
own HTML. You cannot copy the registration links on the shopping cart
and use them in your own HTML, this will not work.

I don't think you understand the question. We have the option for customers
to register but if they load up their cart before registering, after
registering all of the items in their cart are lost.
Thanks,
Scott

P.S. We're running 7.1.2 Pro.

I believe I understood your question just fine. Your issue is that you
copied the registration links from the shopping cart and used them in
your store pages (I see a My Account and Sign-up link at the top of your
pages that obviously came from there). As I mentioned in my last post,
this will not work. You should be using the links from Commerce Setup ->
Customer Registration -> Configure in the 'Customer Registration Link'
area (again, you don't have the use all of the JavaScript stuff there).
As long as you continue to use the links you are using, you will get odd
results.

Okay, sorry. I guess I'm the one that misunderstood. I'll check it out
thank you.
