Is it possible to use a coupon code to get a free gift. i.e. a customer puts in a coupon code of "-" and a free gift is automatically added to the shopping cart?

Jack,
There is no way to have a product automatically added to the cart when a coupon is added, however you could set the coupon value to 0.00 (or
0.01 if 0.00 is not allowed). When a customer utilizes this coupon in the order It will display in the order details (Orders > View Orders) as a line item underneath the product list.
