ShopSite breaks after upgrade of CentOS v5 to v6

HELP!

Our shopsite installation broke after upgrading from CentOS v5 to CentOS v6. All of the cgi functions stopped working, however any cgi I placed in the installation path worked. The shopping cart, admin area, all broken with no real hint as to why.

I rolled back the CentOS upgrade and the installation started working again?!? Any idea why? Help!! Our hosting provider is requiring the upgrade for security reasons.

You probably need to add the compatibility libraries for CentOS 5 to your CentOS 6 install.

The cgi are compiled on an older version of Linux so that they will be compatible with most of the versions of Linux that hosting partners use. So they may be using a library that has changed in the newer version. By installing the compatibility libraries you should be able to get it to work. In a terminal window you can use the ldd command with one of the cgi to see what library might be missing. In the terminal go to the ShopSite ss directory where the cgis are located and enter the command "ldd start.cgi" (without the quotes). It will list all the libraries used by the cgi and list the ones that aren't found. You could then check to see if the compatibility library includes that module and install it.
