Customer Pickup - Free shipping

Postby billwill81 » Fri Feb 15, 2013 7:24 pm

Hello;

I would like to setup a free shipping option for local customer pickup. Currently we utilize the UPS and USPS calculated shipping due to the weight of some of our products. I can not locate an option for customer pickup or a way to customize utilizing this shipping option. My shipping rate calculations setting is set to NONE. Any suggestions...

You can do this by setting the ShopSite calculation to "Flat Shipping", click configure, and set the first option "Ground" to be checked and set to $0. Then, under:
Preferences -> Store Text -> Shipping

change the text "Ground" to "Local Pickup".

Will the shipping module still go out and get the UPS and USPS shipping rate? I thought once I changed this it would not go get the shipping calculations. I need the shipping calculations to work because my items weight 60lbs and the shipping rate vary greatly depending where the customer resides.

Thanks,

Bill,

Yes, you can use ShopSite flat shipping with real-time rates without any issues. They can work together.
