Left links menu and text

On a left links menu, I am trying to display a search field at the top of the column, some text directly below it, and then a left links menu below that text. However, it is displaying with the text below the links menu. Is there a way to switch the two? Thanks!

Probably not without modifying the template. Most built-in templates have the global text fields and global image fields below page links on the side columns.
