Convert site to spanish

My client has been using Shopsite for years and loves it. She's now starting to get a lot of inquiries about having a spanish version of her site. Short of building an entire new site in Spanish and having a second shopping cart, is there a simple way to do this?

Since all text related to the checkout process can be configured it is possible to have the shopping cart in both English and Spanish. You simply add both the English and Spanish translations of the text in the various text fields under Preferences > Store Text and Commerce Setup > Order system.

For store pages you might want to have separate pages for English and Spanish. You could create a main page that allows the shopper to chose their language and then direct them to pages for the appropriate language. You would probably also want to have duplicates of the products so that each could be in the appropriate language. Then you would assign the English version of the product to the English pages and the Spanish version to the Spanish pages.

You could also get a separate store for each language, which may simplify maintenance.
