Low Conversion Rate

Postby apeerenb » Thu Dec 15, 2011 2:49 pm

Hello,

I have a client using an older version of ShopSite, which I am not too familiar with. They have Google Analytics ecommerce tracking installed, and Goals set up. Unfortunately, their site has an extremely low conversion rate, which I would like to improve. According to the Goal Funnels, only 24% of visitors proceed from shopbin/sc/order to shopbin/sc/billing, which I've identified as the major drop-off of conversions.

Could anybody please give me some ideas about how my client could modify their cart through ShopSite to increase conversions? I know some standard ecommerce/shopping cart tips, but I'm looking for more development ideas with SS because I am not familiar with it. The site is www.tecratools.com.

Thanks.

The store isn't using an old version of ShopSite it is running 11 sp1 which was released in October of this year. There are 2 patch releases since then but it is still pretty much up to date.

Note that they have customer registration enabled and that all access to the customer registration screen passes through the order.cgi. So perhaps some of the "drop off" isn't actually drop off, it could be shoppers going to customer registration. What percentage of orders in the store are coming through registered shoppers?
