Dissapearng orders

Has anyone had this happen before...

My client, who has been using Shopsite since 2003, recently had several days worth of orders dissapear from her records. They are simply gone, as if they never happened.

Today she sent me an e-mail saying that Coupons she's created have now dissapeaered as well. She's made coupons in the past and hass never had a problem and she's been using SS for close to a decade and has never had a problem with order vanishing so I don't think it's user error.

Sounds like someone restored the database with a backup version. That would cause both the disappearing orders and the missing coupons since they are both stored in the database.

The best thing to do would be to see if there is a daily backup done of the server, they chould then restore from the backup. If there is no backup they might be able to get back orders that are just a few days old by following the steps in this kbase article

There would be no way to get the coupons back unless there is a daily backup of the store so they would have to manually create the coupons again.
