Cant get credit cards to process

Postby RodneyAW » Wed Nov 23, 2011 6:04 am

Jim, I followed your suggestion and rather than replying to an old post, started a new one. We've been getting the "Your order was not processed" error. Here is your post to my message yesterday...

=====
Do you have both Authorize.net SIM and Authorize.net AIM configure in your store? If you do you should disable one of them because they are not designed to work together. I can tell you have 2 payment methods enabled because the shopping cart displays 3 credit card options plus a Credit Card option. The Credit Card option is normally what SIM has and the individual credit cards is what AIM uses. They should not both be in the cart!

You should go to Commerce Setup > Payment Setup and click the Configure button for your payment gateway and in the settings check the box Display Error Details and save changes. They try placing an order again and see what details are displayed below the message you previously saw.
======
I've done so and now here is the error message I'm getting.....
======
Your order was not processed
There was a problem processing your credit card information.
Please verify that the following were entered correctly:

Zip Code
Card Number
Expiration Date

If you repeatedly see this message, complete your order by contacting the merchant directly.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Detailed error message:
Response Code: 2
Response Subcode: 2
Reason Code: 205
Reason: This transaction has been declined
====

The card is good. I just used it for another purchase. What should be our next steps?

thanks

Did you disable one of the payment methods, SIM or AIM?

The error numbers are coming directly from your payment gateway so the best thing to do is send them an email with the error details and ask them to check why you are getting that message. More than likely you have incorrect information in your ShopSite configuration for you gateway account.

There is an online tool for seeing what the error means at http://developer.authorize.net/tools/responsereasoncode
When I entered 205 for the error code I got
===============
Response Reason Text: This transaction has been declined.
Other Suggestions: This error code applies only to merchants on FDC Omaha. The value submitted in the merchant number field is invalid.
==============

So it looks like you have an invalid merchant number in the ShopSite setting. Make sure there are no leading or trailing spaces with the number.
