Strage Characters appearing in product descrption text.

I am currently having squares and diamonds with question marks appearing in my description text after an upgrade to shopsite version 7? Anyone else had this problem or could help me with it? Its on hundreds of products and i dont want to manually edit each one.

I don't know why that happened, but one thing you can try to fix it is to download your products in tab-delimited text format, load it in a text editor such as notepad, then do a search-and-replace on those characters to get rid of them, then re-upload the modified products file. Make a backup of the products database (via the Utilities -> Database menu) before you do the upload, though, just in case something doesn't turn out the way you wanted and you need to go back to how it was before.
