Yes, each page that you create has to be created some how so it will take extra processor time. The product More Information pages are only created once during a publish cycle. So assigning a product to multiple pages won't make any difference in that regard. Pagination (where you have a single page in the back office with lots of products on it and you only want a certain number to appear on a page) does take a little longer since an actual html page is created for each pagination page. However, normally you will not notice much difference in publish time for say 500 pages and 600 pages. If you have thousands of pages and add thousands more it could make considerable difference.
How long the publish takes is related to 1. how fast the server your store is on is and 2. how many other processes are running on that server and 3. how much time the server allows for each process. Low price point hosts generally load up their servers with accounts because the more accounts they can put on a server the fewer servers they have to have. So even though they may have very fast servers there are lots of things running on each one and they probably set a very low time limit for processes to run. This may be fine if you have a small store but if you have a larger store with lots of pages it may pay in the long run to move to a host where you can get a private server or that doesn't overload their servers. The cost will be more on a monthly basis but the amount of time you save will probably pay the difference.
