Problem logging in

Postby joediffdez » Mon Aug 23, 2010 3:52 pm

Hello all! I am new to shopsite and new to this forum so please, be kind. I had a shopsite store installed on my website and was able to login with no problem. Now that I am trying to access the admin page again, the cgi script is asking to save or open instead of executing. This is happening in every browser that I use. I uninstalled an reinstalled it on a different directory but keep getting the same error. Any ideas??
Thank you all in advance.

Please contact your host. They have made some kind of server configuration change that causes this.

I just tried to log in using the Safari browser instead of Firefox and it worked as normal. Not sure exactly what we can glean from that info, but there it is. :D

I don't know exactly what changed but it's working again. I didn't change anything, just logged on this morning to try out Safari like cory 333 suggested and it worked. Tried in FFox and it worked as well.

Btw, I received this from the tech support ticket:

To get your shop site to run, you have to specify the format the CGI file is to be executed as.

Please add this to the .htaccess file in the public_html folder:

AddHandler cgi-script .cgi

I'm not exactly sure where the public_html folder is. I can't find it on the server, but my site is working. Don't know if that'll help anyone else.
