Using Extra More Info Image Fields

Postby extragear » Mon May 10, 2010 7:41 am

Greetings:

I would be curious if there is an efficient way to label your images when:

1. You have an item with color/size attributes, such as a shirt. You've set it up so the size/color variations are sub-products and are presented in a drop down.

2. You use the Extra More Info Image Fields for each color variation.

What we do now is label each image with its associated name. By labeling I'm referring to placing the name right on the image.

Another thought would be to use some of the extra fields for the image names and somehow configure the template to pull the extra field when the Extra More Info Image Field contains an image.

Example, if more information image 1 has image, pull name from extra field one.

Thanks

Tim

Images with their Option

This is something that will be available in the next release of ShopSite, in the Pro version. You will be able to tie images to the ordering options for your products. The product more information page image will change depending on the option that is selected in the pull down menu. The next version of ShopSite is currently in testing. You can sign up to receive the tech bulletin for ShopSite so that you will be notified when the next release is available.

In your current version, if you are using subproducts rather than ordering options, you could choose to display your subproducts in two places on your more information page, once in the pull down, and once as thumbnails. You would then be able to use the subproduct name, or an extra subproduct field to specify the name or text that is associated with that image.
