Partial Gift Certificate

I was wondering if it is possible to limit usage of a gift certificate. Example: A shopper has a gift certificate for $4. They make a purchase for $4. I would only like them to be able to apply up to half of the gift certificate per order - in this case $2. Of course, if they order $20, the full $4 certificate could be applied.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, not possible with the current gift certificate feature. The shopper who has the certificate can't even determine usage like this. As much of the cert as possible will be used in the order.
