adding a "previous" and "back" button on

Hi:

My client's website will have products on product pages. There may be 4-20 products on a product page, depending on the category of product. Once a customer goes to a more information page, they want to have a Previous and Next button set up so that they can go to the next More Information Page that corresponds with the next product on the product page (in other words, the next More Information Page within that category of products).

How can I make this happen?

A product only "knows" about itself it does not "know" about other products assigned to a page or even to which pages it is assigned. So for a particular products moreinfo page ShopSite can only automatically generate information about that particular product and not any other products or pages. So using Previous / Next links to go to other product more information pages would not be something that could be automatically generated.

You might be able to hard code the links from one product's more info page to another by putting the "Previous" and "Next" products into two of custom product fields and then have your product template build the Previous and Next links based on those fields. This would not be a simple thing to change if you frequently add or remove products from a page assignment. Also if you are assigning the same product to multiple pages but don't also assign all of the other products that are on a single page to the other pages the linking would jump unrelated pages or skip products that are included on one page but not the other.
