Different prices / diffferent pages - based on customer info

Postby circlekstrings » Wed Apr 21, 2010 6:19 pm

Hi Everyone -

I was wondering if anyone had attempted to do something like this:

1. General pages with products for people visiting our website
2. Registered Customers belonging to group A get 10 % any purchase
3. Registered Customers belonging to group b get additional product pages + discount

anyone set up anything like this before? I have been trying to figure out a way to have 1 group of customers get access to an entirely different set of products.

thanks in advance

You create a coupon that gives 10% off and assign that coupon to Registered customers Group A.
You create a second coupon that gives x% off on the additional products and assign that to Registered Customers Group B.
When a shopper signs in and they are in either group that coupon will be added to the cart so they will get the discount on products they purchase.

If you don't want the customers to be able to see all pages then you would need to use a server side method to block access to those pages and give the password to the area to those people who should be given access. On unix type systems you would use the htaccess method to create the access point and password for the protected directory.
