pages are showing in preview but not in publish

Postby chico » Wed Apr 07, 2010 1:11 pm

When I preview, I can see all my edits. When I publish, nothing changes. Any suggestions? I have done a search and seen a few problems exactly the same as mine... with no solutions listed.

Thanks.

Sometimes all that is required is to refresh (reload) the page in your web browser. Your computer may have a "copy" of the page stored and does not realize there are changes, so it shows you the old page.

Killed my cache, restarted my machine... even tried it on other machines... and same problem.

When you publish the store are there any errors reported?

Go to Utilities > Publish > and check to make sure that the option Generate HTML pages during update is checked.

Then click the Regenerate button and see if there are any errors reported, they are usually in red text.

I didn't make any adjustments under Publish. Nothing works when I publish, but it DOES work when I regenerate. Maybe its a bug.

If you are just changing templates the store will not flag pages for publish so that may be why you didn't see any changes.

If you make changes to a page or a product then the pages associated with those changes will cause the publish tab to pop up and just the affected pages will be regenerated when you click the tab. The Utilities > Publish > Regenerate forces all pages to be regenerated.
