USPS Shipping options not showing up - First Class and Media

I have configured my store to calculate USPS shipping by entering my user ID and zip code. I have checked the options for first class, parcel post, priority, and media in the USPS settings in the shipping portion of my Commerce Setup.

However, when I go to check out, the only options given are priority and parcel post. Some of these items I know are light enough to qualify for first class because I ship them that way all the time, and there is also nowhere to set which of my products qualify for media mail. So right now the only shipping options it's returning are pretty expensive - parcel post and priority.

I'm wondering if anyone knows how to set it up to return the other two shipping options when people check out.

I'm using shopsite manager 10.

Some improvements were made to the USPS integration in ShopSite 10 sp1. If you are not using that version you should have your store upgraded and see if that fixes your issue.

Is there a way to tell which version I'm using without spending 40 minutes on the phone with my web host? It says:

ShopSite® Manager 10 r7

Is this sp1, or is there a more recent one I need to get?

That is the previous version. When you go to the main ShopSite backoffice page, it should say:

10 SP1 r1

Have your host upgrade your store to this latest version and your USPS issues should be resolved.

well, after a few hours i discovered that the shipping options must be in place first - then you can change the page info and add the weight, dimensions and choose a flat rate box - some of these choices do not show up in the page info if you do the page info first and have the cart shipping set to flat rate - the shipping must be chosen first and then fill in the page info - hope this helps
