https and product images "Display on Checkout"

when i go to Commerce | Order System | Layout Info...

and enable the product images to "Display on Checkout, Confirmation, and Thankyou"...

my SSL blue tag in the address bar goes away and the browser says i'm no longer secured.

if i uncheck this feature, the images go away of course, and the sll works fine.

i use my own website and order anywhere links, so my image urls are something i bulk upload, so i can use the shopsite cart with my website.

does the software know to alter the product images to be https on the checkout page when i select the radio button option described above?

You must make sure that the secure url for images points to the same location as the non-secure url for the images. If they are not in the same location the secure webserver won't know where they are located and the urls would be non-secure. Also make sure that under Preferences > Hosting services > you have the secure urls properly configured and the boxes checked to use those settings for secure screens.
