Question - How to Delete "Empty" Pages using a Utility or .cgi Script.

Background:

We are generating all Product XML and Page XML content using internal utilities and uploading to our hosted Shopsite store using the Shopsite upload.cgi script and then (re)generating the store using the generate.cgi script.

Our internal requirement is that everything must be automated and hands off driven from our internal corporate database.

We use New Products pages to highlight the arrival of new Products for a period of time. After the time period has expired the product is automatically removed from the New Products page. If at times, there are no new Products and no New Products page our internal generation routines remove the New Products page from the XML to be uploaded. This works well.

However, the legacy New Products page still exists in ShopSite and appears in the Store listings. There are no Products on this Page and we are not uploading it but it exists and therefore continues to appear even though it is empty.

Hence the question: Is there a way to Delete "Empty" Pages (having no Products) using a Shopsite Utility or .cgi script?

No, there is no way to delete pages or products from ShopSite via an upload, and no other mechanism I know of to easily automate it either.
