Problem with SSL configuration

Postby curo » Thu Jun 28, 2007 6:41 am

Hi all,

I'm having problems for securing my website.
When I enter the address in mozilla firefox using HTTPS, the lock appears in the navigation bar.
When I do it in internet explorer, I get this :
(i translated in green as I m using french browser)

I'm using Shopsite pro 8.3, here are my hosting parameters :

I didn't find any good explication in the help file about configurating SSL.
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thank you very much

Do you have your own SSL certificate registered to diecastparadise.com? If not, you will want to use your hosting provider's shared SSL certificate. The SSL certificate in use is a wildcard cert it appears through the domain:

*.sslcert11.com

Ask your hosting provider what shared SSL URL you should be using, and then update the secure links appropriately. Or, you can purchase your own SSL certficate to use for your domain. Your host can help with that as well.

Thank you very much for quick answer.
I think that i have a SSL cert on my server because when i type :

https://diecastparadise.com/store in firefox

i have the lock in the adress bar and when I put the mouse over the lock I get the message "certified by Equifax"

And I think that when you register to Shopsite pro, you get a SSL cert coming with it and installed on your host, right ?

What do you mean by wildcard cert ?

I'm going to ask about this to my host.
Thank you very much for quick and quality reply.

Your settings for "Secure store URL" and "ShopSite Images secure URL" both look incorrect. They would normally be the same as the Store URL and ShopSite Images URL (shown in the Store Settings section) with https instead of http if the certificate is for your domain name.
So the Secure store URL would be
https://diecastparadise.com/store
and the ShopSite Images secure url would be
https://diecastparadise.com/store/shopsite-images

If you are using a shared cert then the domain name would need to be changed but the end of the urls should still be just the /store or /store/shopsite-images and not the /index.shtml or /media/themesmedia

I am also having problems getting the images to show, but they are greyed out. Where can I change them to https?

IF some of your backoffice images are grayed out that is a completely different issue, and you need to contact your ShopSite reseller (usually your hosting provider) if you want to access those features that are currently grayed out.
