Varible Price and SKU not working

Postby VinceS » Fri Jan 08, 2010 2:41 pm

I need a product to enter custom items on the fly; ie Name, SKU and Price for custom work.

I created a product called Custom using the DefaultProduct Template and checked the variable Name, variable Price and variable SKU. The Price and Sale Price are $0. SKU is "Custom" and everything else accept the add to cart image is set to the default setting. I added this product to a test page. The test page uses the DefaultPage Template and has only default settings set.

I'm obviously missing something because I can't modify the product the way I need to.

Here's the page http://www.ahoycaptain.com/shop/blank.html

Use the CustomDefaultProductTemplate instead of the Default Product Template. The "Default Product Template" is an old C version and does not contain the code to display Variable Price products.

Thanks Jim.
Where exactly would I find the CustomProductTemplate? I'm running the latest and greatest SS v10 Pro and I couldn't find it anywhere.

Sorry from this side too. It is called
DefaultCustomProductTemplate
I got the Default and Custom reversed.

It should be in the list of templates for each product under the Product > Edit Product Layout section and is a ways down in the list (19th in my list). All the C based templates are at the top of the list and then the ShopSite Custom Templates and below them would be the user created custom templates.

You can change the template just for a single product or use Power Edit and change it for multiple ones at once.
