Home page question

For testing purposes I installed Shopsite in a sub directory on my server. That way if I didn't like it my home page stayed the same while I tested. Now that I have purchased it can I delete the old index.html file from my main directory and simply move the SS home page index.html from the sub to the main directory without messing things up or do I have to start over?
