Problems with Google Base Upload

Postby John Burger » Wed Apr 22, 2009 12:34 pm

We've been using shopsite 9 since November 2008 and publishing items to google products / base with no problems until 2 weeks ago. It came to to resubmit the feed and now it just sits and processes in shopsite and the feed never finishes. The blue bar just sites about 1/8th of the way done. I went to our google base account and it said the feed failed.

Google Base Error message: We didn't understand some of the XML formatting in your file. You may be missing a tag or have a nesting or formatting error.

We tried upgrading to shopsite 10, but the same problem occurs. Any ideas on how to remedy this? We're missing out on a couple hundred visitors a day without google base, which equivalates to a couple thousand dollars in sales per month.

Thanks for your help!

The "Please wait" bar just hangs. My host says that because I have more than 200 products it could take more than an hour to create and send my feed to Google. That just doesn't sound right. If others are processing thousands of products, it must take them days.

What could be hanging up? Any suggestions?

Have this been resolve? I got similar issues but I contact shopsite. They sent me info about the xml file created. They sent me the products that is causing the error. The error occured because I didnt assigned prices unto them. Since this prices are are required in the google base feed generator, they expects a price value for every product. So it just hang up when it encounters the product w/o the price.

Try to make a case to Shopsite and theyll be gladly to help you.
