Newbie - where do you put the [--- PRODUCT.Fieldx ---]

I apologize for the obivously newbie question, but I'd appreciate direction on adding Product.Fieldsx to a custom template.

I've read many of the posts and gone through the custom template tutorials but my background isn't html, it db. I just need to get these fields to appear so I can check the data upload.

I copied the Awesome Orange, Custom Default and Curved templates and thought that I'd added the [-- PRODUCT.Fieldx --] correctly under Product Name sections, but they don't display. I did change the Product page to point to each of these new templates and published and still haven't seen the results.

Do I need to add an html start/end tag before adding these fields?

Any help is more than greatly appreciated.

Can you post a copy of about 10 lines before and after where you put the tag and I'll look and see if they are in the right place.

Note that a page template can override the product template that is used so you might want to check the page template you are using and see if in the [-- loop products --] section the [-- product --] tag contains something before the final --]
