Upgraded to Shopsite Manager and getting errors

Postby Peter Gregg » Tue Jul 21, 2009 12:10 pm

I tried the free version of the Shopsite cart and liked it a lot. I immediately upgraded to the Manager version (my host charges by the month - Powweb).

I am getting errors when arriving at the cart, and just as important, the main reason I upgraded was to handle international orders and that does not seem to be getting recognized. I need a little guidance on this :)

This is a new blog just installed 3 days ago so it hasn't been made operational with content yet, I did plug the buttons in here though:

Thanks,
Peter

I see the following in the shopping cart
"USPS Message: An XML response was not returned from USPS."

This indicates that your USPS configuration has not been put in Live mode. You need to contact USPS to get that done before you can use the USPS rates.

The steps to get USPS configure are listed here:

Thanks Jim. I just did what you said I needed to do and will wait for their activation.

I think what I want to know is if I get an order that is International, does the buyer have to select the button for Global Mail? My problem with another cart is people in the UK were able to select local USA shipping rates and then go ahead and place the order. It was very annoying and I am trying to solve that problem so an international address will get the right shipping cost instead of folks trying to get around it. Can you elaborate of that a bit?

Thanks,
Peter

USPS should only return shipping options that are available to the country that the shopper selected.
