Google Checkout and Product Restrictions

We've recently added the Google Checkout option to our site. Google just sent us message saying that they won't sell products containing ephedra, which some of our products contain, and that if we don't change the buttons on these restricted products to their ghosted out "product not available through google checkout" button that they'll suspend our account.

I've looked at the configuration screen and it seems to just add the button to the pre-shopping cart screen regardless of which products are in the cart. Is there any way to fix this option so that google checkout will be available for most of our products and not the ones they refuse to sell? Or do I have to ditch the google checkout idea completely?

There is no option to just allow some products to be purchase by a specific payment method. So if Google won't allow some products you will probably have to not use Google for a payment method.
