Internal Server Error and buggy ShopSite store??

Postby meels » Wed Jul 08, 2009 6:54 pm

Hi...I just completed a ShopSite store for a customer and already we are getting errors from customers.

1) Customer registered for the site, ordered, the quantity was wrong (somehow he says it showed 5 although he only ordered 4), then after he ordered if did NOT get the confirmation email. I looked at the backoffice and I couldn't find any orders from him at all. Although, I did find him as a registered customer. I have no idea what happened there.

2) When I was doing a test order, I ordered a quantity of 5, changed it to 4, then clicked on Recalculate. This is what I got:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, meels@pair.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

UGH...what's going on? This is my customer's business so I need to fix these errors!!!

BTW - I am using pair.com as my ISP.

Thanks,
Amelia

As the error message says you should contact Pair. They are the ones with access to the server so they can look into the issue.

They're telling me it's a USPS error. Below is what what pair said. But, could this cause the RECALCULATE problem, where we get the Internal Server Error?

"USPS Message: Please enter a valid ZIP Code for the sender."

Looking at your back office under Commerce Setup --> Shipping --> Configure
U.S. Postal Service --> USPS User Info, the Zip code is listed as:

Zip Code: 570ID35HK687

You may need to use Commerce Setup --> Shipping -->Configure U.S. Postal
Service --> Re-subscribe USPS button in order to enter the proper zip code
and correct the issue.

Having an incorrect value for the USPS zipcode could cause problems. So see if fixing it will resolve the issue. Others aren't reporting calculation issues.
