Google Base feed generates bogus image link

I am using Shopsite 9.0.4.1 on a Windows platform.
The API data feed sent to Google Base is being rejected with this message:

status=Invalid item, title= Error, id= PID#75, message= <errors> <error type="data" field="image_link" reason="This entry is not of type URL." /> </errors>

One of the offending lines looks like this:
http://chorste.com/shopsite_sc/media/Products/ss_size2\B-1001-2.jpg

I assume is is the back slash rather than forward slash that is the problem.

Unfortunately, that does not appear to be something I have any control over.
Any ideas what the problem is here?
