discount issue

Postby connieryan » Mon Mar 23, 2009 1:36 pm

Hello!

I have a little problem. My store is set with each item as one main product and three subproducts (containing specific options). See below:

main product: no price with it...just general information about an online course

Subproduct
course only for a single price ($124)
course plus continuing education units (single price plus ceu fee)
course plus credits (single price plus credit fee)

I have always done monthly special where you can get a 10% discount if you register for two or more courses. Not sure what feature to use so that I can offer the discount but NOT allow the discount to apply to the continuing education units or credits since these fees are paid to a third party vendor and CANNOT be discounted.

Hope that makes sense and there are some options. Otherwise, I have to find new software. :(

Thanks much!

If you used Order Option Pricing (instead of subproducts) and had 3 options for the product,( course, course +ceu, course + credit fee) Then you could discount the course price and the fees for the ceu and credit would not be affected since they are just added on to the price of the course.

order option

I did not like that feature because the customer adds the option but then must remember to recalculate. My customers are kind of forgetful that way. They often forget to use coupons or even click the free reward button.
