de-activating products without deleting them

Is there a way to keep a products info, but not have it show up for purchase (say if it is temporarily out of stock)?

You have a couple of options:

1. Remove the product from any assigned pages and set the "Search Destination" to none. This will make the product not show up on catalog pages or searches.

2. If you still want it to appear on pages but not be orderable, if you're using Pro and inventory tracking, set the qty on hand and out of stock limit to "0". Or, set the "Add to Cart" button to a 1x1 invisible spacer graphic so it cannot be ordered.
