SKU sorting, totally frustrated

Postby laur11 » Fri Feb 27, 2009 3:12 pm

My problem is I am trying to sort my SKU by numbers, and its grouping all the 1's, 10's 20's etc. (example: 1, 10, 11, 12....2, 20, 21, 22) together instead of going sequentialy ex: 1,2,3,4,5,6 and so on. Is there a way to fix this?

The sort is an alphabetic sort not a numeric sort which is why it sorts this way. There is no way to change it.

We have pretty much used the Arrange Items option for our pages as it gives you complete control of the products listed and their order. It is not as convenient as automatically sorting but gives you more control.

Add Zeros in front

Add zeros in front. Make sure you put enough to cover your higest number. If you have more than 100 and you do

00
01
02, etc then 105 will not sort right

so you would use

001
002
003
004
005
006
007
008
009
010

or

0001
0002
0003

would give you up to 9999 numbers.
