Classified Ads Pages

Don't think I'm the first person to think about this, so maybe someone out there has done it or knows an APP that will.

I'd like to give customers the ability to post their own classifieds on our website. I think has potential to draw traffic to us and provide an incentive for repeat visits.

If anyone has some ideas, please share.

Would the ads be something similar to a look and feel of a google adsense type of an ad that redirects back to their site?

I would think that that would not be very difficult to set up, however It might not be something you would want people to be able to do without first approving the ad. Ads and payment info ( if you are charging ) could easily be submitted through a form for approval.

Rotating ads would not be hard with all the options available like shtml, php, cgi, swf, etc., even using built in shopsite includes could work to some extent to replace ads. I have used just plain graphics in the past for customers who wanted something simple on their own site to be able to update their own ads by replacing the ad on the site already with a new one the same size and name. They would design the new ad and ftp it over the old ad.

I would be curious to hear a little more about what you had in mind.
