Creating a feed for Amazon Stores by using Google Base file

Postby extragear » Tue Jul 24, 2007 10:14 am

Greetings:

I wanted to take the Google Base Feed and use it for our Amazon store. We are using the FTP method for Google Base. How can I access the Google Base feed?

Thanks

After you sumbit the feed to Google Base from ShopSite, the 'Feed Last Submitted' timestamp in the Merchandising -> Google -> Froogle menu should be a link. Click on this and you should see a report screen for the submission. At the top of this screen there should be a link that says 'Click here to view the original datafeed'. Click this and you should see the raw XML of the feed that was submitted to Google Base.

Have you figured out how to create a feed to amazon using the google feed, or some other way?

I would be very interested in knowing how you are going to accomplish this task. Would love to send a feed to AMZ also.

Im also kinda surprised (maybe not) that SS does not have some kind of feed or product upload into AMZ.

amazon feed

Here is what I've found out so far:
Amazon does have a template and most of the information can be obtained by downloading the products list from shopsite. The one, and most important, field that couldn't be completed was the web address for the product. What gets downloaded is the product number (which forms part of the address), but not the whole web address. My stepson figured out how to add the rest of the address using Java, but I haven't got a clue how he did this.
I've uploaded my data successfully to amazon, but don't know if products will show or not.
