"Change Password" Utility Not Working

When I try to change the store password using the "Change Password" function under the utilities menu, I get the error message "The old passwords didn't match".

Shopsite recommends that we change the password frequently. Our shopsite hosting partner (Strategic Solutions) says that this Shopsite function doesn't work: changing the password requires the host to change the AUTH File and the server user file, and that they may need to access a fee to us each time we make a password change.

There are times where security mandates an immediate password change, without waiting for our hosting technical support. This would seem to be a serious flaw in Shopsite if the "change password" function is truly unuseable.

Has anyone else run into this issue? BTW, we are using Shopsite Pro 8.3.
