Template question (Please help before I poke my eyes out)

Postby lenashore » Thu Sep 04, 2008 10:43 am

I am new to shopsite and on a deadline and I'm stuck.

I created a template by copying and modifying the "Modern" Page theme and css:
http://soccerstopjax.net/store/

It turned out pretty good. BUT, if you click on a product, you get the old Modern template. I see where I can change the product template to a new one.

I thought if I just took my working template and replaced the area that displays all the thumbnails with the inforamation that goes in the "ModernProductTemplate" area I'd be good. But, I got a ton of errors.

So, what is the best/easiest way to take my new theme and turn in into something usable for the MoreInfo or ModernProductTemplate pages?

My brain has turned into mashed potatoes.

Thanks for any help.

The product moreinformation page is generated by the code in the product template in the section [-- DEFINE MORE_INFO_PAGE --]. This section needs to be a complete html page so the easiest way to do that would be to view the source of one of your regular pages, copy that source and put it between the
[-- DEFINE MORE_INFO_PAGE --] and
[-- END_DEFINE MORE_INFO_PAGE --]

Then delete the section of the html that contains all of the products and replace that with the ShopSite tags to generate the look of the product informaton for the specific product that the page will be generated for.

Note that on the page you referred to there is some html code showing at the top of the links on the left side. it looks like <!-- and is generated by the code in your template that is <!--
