Exact location of html in ModernProductTemaplate for navlink

Postby Rod » Mon Aug 25, 2008 3:18 pm

Can someone please give the exact location where the html for left navlinks and headlinks should go in the ModernProductTemaplate.

I've been at this for hours and it's going nowhere.

Thank You,

Rod

What are you trying to do?

A product template would not have page links on it unless you manually paste those links into the template. The links cannot be generated automatically.

Where do you want the links placed? You would need to view the html source of the moreinformation page (which is the only thing in the product that might have links) and locate the spot where you want the links and then edit the template and place your html for the links at that location.

I'm trying to manually insert html code containing links into the product template.

This is what I get:

http://eval.shopsite.com/ssdemos/ver90/ ... duct1.html

I'm trying to insert the links into the gold bar like I did here.

Thank You,

How did you get the multiple "Home" and "View Cart" links in the bar on the page? Where ever you edited that is where you would put your other links.

I've been working on this problem for almost 2 weeks now.

Finally decided to call Shopsite and spoke with someone there for about 1 minute who set me straight.

Very easy...

After you copy and edit the Modern-MoreInfoPage.sst template with the appropriate changes, copy and save your COPY as Modern-MoreInfoPage.sst.

So:

1. Copy the Modern-MoreInfoPage.sst template and rename it as say Modern-MoreInfoPage_copy.sst.

2. Edit in the necessary html changes for links to the Modern-MoreInfoPage_copy.sst.

3. Copy the Modern-MoreInfoPage_copy.sst and rename back to Modern-MoreInfoPage.sst.

4. Save all of your product pages and publish.

All of this is done within the Shopsite interface and took me about a minute.

Hope this helps and saves you a lot of time. I sure wasted a lot of time before getting it straight.

Thanks,
