Inventory tracking per product options

Hi,

Does anyone know of a way we can track our inventory by product colors? We do not want to have to add a new product just for each different color. I believe what I'm talking about is a product matrix. This seems like it should be such a basic function of any shopping cart and not having this functionality is a big pain.


Any help would be much appreciated.

ShopSite currently does not support inventory tracking at the option level. If you need it at that level then you will need to have a product for each option.

Agreed. I am trying to sell shoes and cannot create a new product for every size. I would have 5000 skus. Shopsite should have master skus with sub-skus for options.

Just wondering, when you order your shoes from the manufacturer to they have individual part numbers for each color, style and size?

I agree...

We want to start selling clothes and shoes, but would need to have a sku for every size/color which would be impossible to manage at that level.

Will have to continue looking for a package that will handle it.

Hi, Jim,

shoes seem to have their own sku for each size. I have seen varying many methods for assigning skus, typically the size appears in the like 80 for a size 8 and 85 for 8 1/2, etc.

So a style 0733 in a size 8 M would be

073380M
073385W (8 1/2 wide)

Etc.

We've been asking for it for years as well.

It's a huge headache for inventory management (particularly for apparel; even worse for shoes). We resort to setting quantity to 1, and manually managing the menu options.

As we grow, Shopsite becomes less tenable for us for this one reason.
